Oh, and what Kudra said about the eye contact thing. The only way to get someone at Home Depot to help you is by tackling them as they walk by you for the millionth time.

I hate it when you have enter your account number, zip code, phone number, date of birth, password, blah blah blah, just to get to a real human being and then the real human being asks for your account number, zip code, phone.....

My Grey's Anatomy Connection - one of the teachers in my department - his daughter is married to Patrick Dempsey!
Seriously? (Sorry, couldn't resist.) As for Burke's nickname, how about McPants? Every week when my daughter and I are watching, we have to go through the cycle of who we love, depending on who's onscreen at the moment: "I love George!" "I love McDreamy!" But the one we always always always agree on is "We love Izzy!" And I want to say things about what just happened Thursday, but I don't want to ruin it for our overseas friends, so I guess we'll have to meet back here in one year to talk about when the thing happened between you know who and the other one and then there was the blood and the long look between him and her... Seriously.

Bush fighting for the cause of Freedom?
by frankiespeakin ini have read some of bush's talks about fighting for freedom.
in essence i think the term freedom as used by the president has a very very narrow application namely: democracy verses dictatorship.. do you think that bush's use of the word freedom as his reasons for invading another country, a acurate term or just more government propaganda?.

Speaking of polls:
Let's listen to what the Iraqi people are saying, according to a recent poll conducted by the University of Maryland:
** 71% of all Iraqis now want the U.S. out of Iraq.
** 61% of all Iraqis SUPPORT insurgent attacks on U.S. troops.

And yes, I think a lot less would have been dead with that nutcase dictator still in charge.
This reminds me of something I just read. Saddam has been "credited" with the murders of 300,000 Iraqis over 24 years. The most recent study done by Johns Hopkins University puts the numbers of Iraqis killed by Bush et al in the last three years as close to 600,000.
I'm sure the Iraqi people feel very free today. When the Saddam verdict was announced and people were demonstrating in the streets, Iraqi security forces shut down two of the TV stations that were broadcasting the demonstrations.

So, uh yeah, propaganda.

Reposted from other thread: I guess I'd like either something from your part of the world or something that tells me a little about you (whoever "you" are). Or if that's too vague and you like to take the easy way out - a DVD of "The Limey". I also like the idea someone else had of receiving tree ornaments. I'm starting to build a collection as well. Merry Christmas!

"It seemed so lifeless, so everyday, that all these marriages were meaningless." I can relate to this. It's very surreal, isn't it? I was alone in the courtroom - just my lawyer, the judge and me. The judge asked me about ten questions that all had the answer "yes," and it was over. 11 years done in five minutes. And my lawyer was practically dancing a jig as we left because he was on his way to buy a marriage license. Six of Nine - you know what tomorrow is...19 years (would've been). Happy anniversary!
